ABOUT US
The Friends of the Skyline Hills Library is an all-volunteer, member-supported, nonprofit organization that fundraises, advocates, and works with partners to provide critical support for the branch and library system.
We are one of 32 chapters of the larger "Friends of the San Diego Public Library." The FSDPL is a California Nonprofit Corporation, and holds the 501(c)(3).

To support the Skyline Hills Branch Library in providing resources, programs, and a welcoming space that enriches lives and strengthens our community.

WHAT WE DO
FUNDRAISE
Raise funds through book sales, donations, and memberships to support library programs and resources.
PURCHASE MATERIALS
Help provide books, media, and resources for all ages.
SUPPORT PROGRAMS
Fund and promote educational, cultural, and literacy programs.
COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION
Bring people together through events, volunteer opportunities, and partnerships.
ADVOCATE
Champion the library and its vital role in our community. We advocate for library budgets and hours by attending City Council meetings, meeting with the District 4 council member, writing letters, and conducting public education about library funding.
PROMOTE
Share the library's programs, resources, and opportunities with the community. We post both the Library's and Friends' programs and meetings on social media and our website.
The Skyline Hills Library Friends has a rich history rooted in the belief that a library can transform a community. From the original library in 1969 to the opening of our current branch in 2016, our journey has been powered by dedicated volunteers, community members, and a shared vision for a brighter future.
Original Skyline Branch Library opens, serving the community for generations.
Friends of the Skyline Library chapter is founded.
The Friends chapter is reestablished, bringing renewed energy and support.
New Skyline Hills Branch Library opens, expanding access to books, programs, and opportunities.
Celebrating 10 years since the Skyline Hills Branch reopened. We have over 50 members in our chapter!
